For a bicycle company to care about the environment is common sense. We offer a product that provides a solution to many of the planet's most complex problems, such as traffic congestion, public health and climate change.
It is our aim to facilitate the growth of sport and leisure cycling, spreading the values of the sport, minimising the risks of sharing the road with motor vehicles, spreading a culture of mutual respect and ensuring the respect and conservation of natural spaces.
And although cycling has always had environmental approval, we are not exempt from combating the minimal environmental footprint caused by the marketing and distribution of bicycles.
In recent years there has been a significant increase in the use of bicycles in Spain, and it has been noted that the recreational use of bicycles has been increasingly joined by the use of bicycles for everyday urban journeys.
It is understandable that Sanferbike encourages the use of bicycles as a means of transport to get to work, but this is only possible if companies prepare areas to welcome both cyclists and their vehicles.
STAFF SHOWERS
Sanferbike salesmen and mechanics are all cyclists, so all the shops have at least one toilet with a shower area. Even in the central offices, due to the larger space and more staff, there are three bathrooms (two with bathtub and one with shower) because there are many more colleagues on arrival at work.
BICYCLE LOCKERS
There is also a place where everyone can leave their bike and the corresponding equipment (helmet, gloves, shoes, jersey, shorts, ...).
Achieving paperless offices and, therefore, more environmentally friendly, is possible with digital document management processes and services. All our staff are committed to social development and environmental protection and at Sanferbike, as part of our digitalisation strategy, at the end of 2019 we launched the Paper 0 project, which enables us to reduce the amount of paper received and issued in the company by up to 90%.

REDUCE What can we do to reduce the amount of paper and cardboard waste? At Sanferbike we have never bought giant cardboard boxes to ship bicycles. We avoid buying cardboard boxes and reuse the ones we receive from our suppliers.
REUSE All our deliveries have always been made with recycled packaging that comes from manufacturers' boxes. It is true that the bicycle boxes do not look aesthetically pleasing, but in return we avoid pollutants that affect the manufacture and transport of cardboard.
The savings in packaging are close to 90%, thus avoiding the same proportion of waste.
RECYCLE As with paper, we have contracted the collection of cardboard for subsequent recycling. Service contracted with an authorised company.
Leading bicycle retailers have adapted all protections to make packaging as sustainable as possible.
In 2020, we began receiving the Trek Marlin bicycle in new packaging that allowed us to halve the number of non-recyclable parts. With this packaging process for bikes and accessories, the manufacturer Trek has eliminated 196,677 kg of plastic in a single year.
The so-called Three Rs Rule aims to stimulate citizen participation, from the household level, in the fight against the degradation of the planet by reducing, reusing and recycling the products we consume.
What does REDUCE mean? It means reducing the volume of products we consume. We should avoid buying unnecessary things just for the sake of buying. To manufacture what we buy we need raw materials (oil, wood or water) which, because they are difficult to extract or are scarce in nature, we cannot afford to waste. At Sanferbike we suggest you to group the items to be purchased in a single order. in order to be able to make a single shipment and generate the minimal contamination caused by packaging and transport.
What does REUSE mean? It involves the reuse of an object that has already been used, either for the same purpose for which it was created or for a different purpose.. At Sanferbike we reuse cardboard boxes to send you your order. We can extend its life and prevent it from becoming a single-use waste product.
What does RECYCLE mean? It consists of manufacturing new products using materials obtained from used ones, through a transformation process. Paper, cardboard and plastic can be recycled without any problem. Sanferbike asks you to take the cardboard boxes to the blue bin and the plastic ones to the yellow bin. Only you can help us to recycle.
